Time Changes Everything
In its formative years, LOST WEEKEND Western Swing Band was essentially an "acoustic" outfit, with the exception of Bobby Black's amplified steel guitar. This performance of Tommy Duncan's Time Changes Everything, at Berkeley's Freight and Salvage, is from a VHS video recording from the collection of Paul Kealoha Blake (East Bay Media Center). Don Burnham—rhythm guitar and vocal, Bing Nathan—bass, Bobby Black—steel guitar, Jim Rothermel—reeds, Kevin Wimmer—fiddle, John Reischman—mandolin.
Caravan
This performance of Juan Tizol's Duke Ellington classic Caravan by LOST WEEKEND Western Swing Band was recorded on October 9, 2004 at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, California. The recording features drummer John Harrison Brinck and saxophonist Jim Rothermel. John H. Brinck retired from performing in 2005; his career and talent bridged genres and generations.
